Images and Stories — Photographer Images Adorn our Walls: Phase 1

Recently Pictage CEO Jim Collins posted on the Pictage Forums asking photographers to send in images that we would be able to hang on the Pictage walls. He asked for images that the photographers felt were not typical wedding or even wedding at all, but most importantly had stories behind them. We are in the process of putting all of them on the walls, but want to say thank you to everyone who submitted photos… we love them and can’t wait to put them up. Here is the first batch that we want to share with you. We define our work as modern, natural, and beautiful.  Which I believe defines not only our imagery, but also our branding and our care for our clients as well.  We have a deep passion for loving and serving our clients, and look forward to long-term relationships with them. What is your favorite thing to shoot? Hands down, my daughter, Ailey. I have the most beautiful daughter in the world – every good Mom thinks that about their little one right!?!?    I love capturing her always changing, always growing spirit.  It’s so bright and full of crazy energy.  (and attitude – something I suspect will give her dad and I

“Admired by Beckstead” Newest Winners (and bonus Honorable Mentions)

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 7th round of “Admired by Beckstead,” our twice-monthly David Beckstead image contest! We are so excited to announce this round’s winner… FIRST place goes to Don Bryant of Annapolis, MD. Congratulations Don! David’s Comments on the winning image: The compositional elements work together perfectly in this shot! The clouds mock the angle of the car. The leading lines of the car move your eyes eventually to the subjects. The depth is just great putting the original hard focus on the front of the car then gently going out of focus (but not too much) to the subjects. The colors are just great! The angle the photographer chose was interesting and different. Reflections, points of interest, story…all there

Pictage Camera Toss with Mike Larson

Around 2pm yesterday all of the Pictage employees gathered outside in the parking lot for the most dramatic and exciting company picture in Pictage history. Not only was the picture taken by Pictage member Mike Larson, but we’re pretty sure we set a North American record! Over 115 employees were instructed to circle around Mike as he sent his camera (actually our CEO Jim’s camera) spinning 25 feet in the air. You may recognize this as his very own “camera toss” technique. If you don’t believe it, check it out below and check out Mike’s blog for more of his camera toss photos. Thank you to Mike for making this a fun and exciting experience that we won’t forget! And thank you to Pro Consultant

The Pictage Community Forums: Are you there yet??

My first week at Pictage, I spent most of my day browsing the Pictage Forums trying to get a feel for Pictage and Pictage photographers. As I read thread after thread I was amazed at the sincere community that was available within the forums. I noticed the questions posted, the instant genuine responses, the ability to candidly share to a group of people that truly understand, the opportunity to showcase images with peers as they critique and affirm, and so much more. I learned later that the Pictage Forums are designed to let you learn, network, and grow within your community and industry. They are convenient, insightful, and beneficial to all members, whether just starting out or seasoned veterans. As a member of the Pictage
