Using Export Actions in Adobe Lightroom

Lightroom isn’t just limited to what you do in Lightroom. Once you are finished with your images in Lightroom, Lightroom can hand off your images to another program and direct that application to perform any number tasks. Use photoshop actions, import images into other programs, or even use automator scripts. The sky is the limit… or perhaps the programs you own are the limit. Suffice it to say, this is one of my favorite little features in Lightroom. **Join Jared for a FREE Workflow Q&A tomorrow, Wednesday, January 26th at 10 AM Pacific Time on the Pictage Forums.** Using Export Actions in Adobe Lightroom from Jared Platt on Vimeo. Choosing Images to Deliver to Wedding Photography Clients

In selecting images for delivery to the client, we want to make sure we’re delivering enough images to tell the story of the wedding day while making sure that we’re not overwhelming the client with too many images. The purpose of this article is to provide a few objective guidelines to help with the very subjective image selection process of the wedding photography workflow. In general, we should be aiming for around 800-1200 per wedding, but there is no magic number and each wedding will have unique circumstances. Overall Guidelines The overarching question you should be asking yourself as you go through the images is the following: “What is the purpose of this image?” Each image needs to have a purpose. It needs to portray

There’s nothing better than a stress-free wedding day when everything runs on time, people are ready to take pictures when you need them, and you have creative freedom to do your job well. Can I get a ‘fo-sho’ from my wedding peeps out there? And you know what the best part is? There’s a lot that you can do as a photographer to make sure that these kinds of wedding days happen more often than not, which is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. The New Math of Lightroom 3 (Process Versions)

Lightroom 3 has a few great new features in it, but the best feature is the math behind the curtain. This is what Adobe calls a Process Version. It is essentially a new set of algorithms and other mathematic equations that I would never understand, that make our images look better. And all throughout high school, I thought math would never be useful to me. It turns out that it is very useful, as long as someone smart employes it in my photo software. Lightroom 3 can employ the older math from 2003 (used in LR 2) or it can employ the new math inherent in LR3. The new math is beautiful and worth updating images that you are taking a second look at, but
