Describe your photography style or words that describe your brand?
My style is best described as documentary. I like to think that looking at my work reminds the client exactly how the day or event went (no posing or staging, just documenting).

What is your favorite thing to photograph?
My favorite thing to photograph is actually the non-profit called the Dream Foundation. They grant wishes for terminally ill adults with 6 months or less to live. Producing images for those individuals defines the importance of photography and reminds me of what is really important in life.
What is a must read or must see?
A must read is “marketing without advertising“, but my all time favorite book is “the right words at the right time” by Marlo Thomas.
What are your work hours?
About 10-4 during the week, and then the hours working a wedding or event.
What is your favorite thing about Pictage?
My favorite thing about Pictage is that once I shoot the wedding, my work is done. I download the files, organize into folders and do a rough edit all on the airplane on the way home from the shoot and when it lands, I know that all I have to do is send the files to Pictage and they will do the final color correction and print and ship the images….leaving my only job walking to the mailbox to collect my commission check!
What lens could you not live without?
Canon 70-200 IS L.
How do you juggle your business and family/social life?
Pictage helps me juggle the two by allowing me to delegate those time consuming tasks that I do not need to do, like album designing and organizing small print orders.
What workflow tools do you use?
Only lightroom.
How long does it take you to upload to Pictage?
About 4-5 hours.
How long have you been a photographer?
This is my 9th wedding season.
What was your very first job?
Believe it or not, my very first photography paycheck was taking a group picture for Paramount Pictures! I had no idea what I was doing, so hired 2 assistants that did, to teach me on the fly!
Most listened to song on your ipod?
“Great Day to Be Alive” by Travis Tritt.
What is something you have learned this year?
That I will never stop learning!
What is a goal for 2008?
To shoot less and make more!
What is one thing we don’t know about you?
I teach photography once a week at the Institute of Art.
Who inspires you?
Perhaps because I’m going to the concert tonight, but I’d say Jimmy Buffett. He does what he loves, his theme is enjoy life and relax, and he has figured out how to make a living doing both.
How do you get most of your bookings? What is your primary way of
marketing?
Many on the spot at weddings while showing the day’s slideshow, many from word of mouth and also from fellow photographers.
What blog do you stalk?
I’m not much of a blog stalker, but I probably check out David Jay’s the most. I love how his goal is to save photographers time and make them more money, he’s looking out for our best interests!
